Although we are nearly half way through the year, plenty of us are of course still aiming to achieve new goals or take on new habits. Altough there is a lot of advice, opinions, and tips out there to get people to those points of success, including my recent posts, nothing compares to starting with self and having a vision for the things you wish to accomplish. One way to do that is by creating a "Personal Vision Statement".
A personal vision statement is literally a statement that summarizes and reminds you of what you expect of yourself and the qualities you'd like to gain. Why a personal vision statement? Here are 3 reasons:

To Develop Focus
With any goal, focus is a major part in making things happen. Focus helps us eliminate distractions and see only what we’ve set out to accomplish. Your personal mission statement will help you focus on what truly is important in anything you do.
To Live 'On Purpose'
Why do you do what you do? Purpose is important as we set out to create our ideal lives. Identifying our drive that causes us to set goals makes the view much clearer and fuels our passion.
Develop a Sense of Direction
Where are you going? Having a sense of direction optimizes our focus. With every goal you set, what would success look like, and what purpose would it serve?
Whatever your personal mission statement says is totally up to you, but in order to encourage your personal mission statement, consider theses things:
1. What are you passionate about? What gets you going? What do you love to talk about and spend your time doing? Questions like these will determine your "why" and ultimately drive you to your intention, and will be the drive behind everything you do.
2. What do you value? In anything that you do, what is most important to you? What factors are non-negotiable? These values, when carried with you in everything that you set out to do will help greatly with decision-making.
3. If you could change something, what would it be? If there is something you could change or improve in anything that you do while also adding your “personal touch”, consider that very thing when creating your mission statement
A personal mission statement can totally shift the way you approach your everyday life in any area.
